Apple Event 3/2/11 Recap - All You Need To Know
100 Million iBooks Sold
In one year, over 100 million iBooks have been sold, according to Steve Jobs.
Now, more than 17,000 Random House books are in the iBooks Store. Jobs states that Apple has over 2,500 publishers in the E-Book Store.
More Statistics
More than 200 million people have an Apple ID, which is probably more than Amazon. Also, Apple paid out $2 billion to the devs.
Over 100 million iPhones have been sold.
Over 15 million iPads have been sold.
While the AppStore has 65,000 apps developed for iPad, the Android Store only has 100.
iPad 2
Now with dual core Apple A5 processor. Boom.
33% thinner. From 13.4 mm to 8.8 mm, now thinner than the iPhone 4 (which is 9.3 mm). Also, its 0.2 pounds lighter - from 1.5 to 1.3. There are two colors, black and white, and its available on both AT&T and verizon.
Still at $499 up.
The new iPad will ship on March 11 to the US and on March 25 to 26 other countries. Also, now with HDMI output.
New covers! Its not a case - its a cover.
iOS 4.3 will be shipped with the new iPad. With a new 'nitro fast' Safari.
Also new is PhotoBooth for iPad and FaceTime (with a new icon!)
iMovie is one of the new apps for the iPad. The other one is GarageBand. Both available in the AppStore for $4.99 each.
